Challenge. Create the concept for a smart phone application that filled a need that currently isn’t being tapped into.

Ready? As college students ourselves, we tried to find a need of ours that hasn’t been filled. The first thing that came to mind is how hard it is to cook delicious yet nutritious food in college. Even if we know how to cook and have the time, the ingredients can be expensive. There are websites and applications out there that help individuals with this problem but none of them are targeted towards students. Out of this idea came Eat-In.

Set. Eat-In would be an application that allowed individuals to input all of the ingredients in their cabinet and would be given quick and easy recipes. Users would also be able to post about their finished meals on the Eat-In social media section of the application. However, we started to realize that there are so many websites and applications that have these same features. How would Eat-In be different? Eat-In would first team up with the Food Network for more exposure and opportunity. Second, we would create a section with advertisements of local grocery store’s products. For example, if a user were one or two ingredients away from completing a meal, the user would be presented with advertisements of where to buy these products. Every advertised item would display the price and location.

Go! Eat-In offers a user-friendly mobile app that allows users to customize meals, offers an ingredient list with comparative pricing, as well as adding a social media aspect to gain a competitive advantage in the meal preparation industry.
